RST - Richard Sandbrook Trust

Get involved

Richard was always energetically looking for ways he could make a difference, and he expected everyone else to do the same. Here's how you can get involved in continuing Richard's work.

Support us

Max Hogg, Forum for the Future masters scholar

Help us to do what meant so much to Richard. As well as raising money to cover the administration, development of the RST and its events, we are looking for substantial funding for projects aimed at the new generation of activists, to help them learn from the experience of Richard and his generation of campaigners, and create an effective style of their own.

You can make a donation by sending a cheque to the address in the footer of this page. Or complete this standing order form to set up a regular donation.

Send us your memories

Richard Sandbrook with colleagues at the IUCN
Despite his major achievements, Richard did not archive his documents with an eye to posterity. The RST wants, therefore, to bring together a record of his substantial body of work. As it parallels the development of the environment and sustainable development movement, it holds a story that is of both historical interest and practical use.

So if you have something you think would be of interest – either a personal memory or a relevant document, please let us know, using the contact details in the footer of this page.

Get active

Richard Sandbrook as a young man

Richard spent his life explaining the tight relationship between environmental degradation and economic and social injustice, meaning the solutions had to address both, at the same time. And that could only happen by getting people together, mobilising businesses, NGOs and government around new ways of thinking and doing things.

Nothing would honour his memory more than ever more people doing just that. Read about young students who are doing just this in Richard’s name
